MEDIA RELEASE – TEMPORARY DELIVERY OF USER PAY GARBAGE BAG TAGS
TOWNSHIP OF CHATSWORTH – The Township of Chatsworth has implemented proactive measures
to limit the transmission of the COVID-19 VIRUS. Our Holland/Markdale Landfill Site and Sullivan
Transfer Station remain open to residents of the Township.
User pay garbage bag tags remain available through many local retailers including: Variety Plus
Convenience Store, 6 & 10 Convenience and Esso Gas Station in Chatsworth, Williamsford General
Store and Holland Centre Gas Bar.
The Township is also offering a temporary home delivery service for bag tags. To access this
temporary service, please email firstname.lastname@example.org. Residents unable to access this service
online can call 519-794-3232, Ext. 121and leave a message. A staff member will contact you to make
Deliveries will take place on Mondays, and requests for deliveries must be made by the preceding
Thursday at noon. Bag Tags will be sold in quantities of 5 or 10 and residents will be invoiced at the
time of delivery.
“We have heard from residents who are self-isolating that they are finding it challenging to get user pay
bag tags”, said Mayor Scott Mackey.
The User Pay bag tag system provides residents with a tool to reduce their waste disposal costs by
recycling and reducing waste. “Maintaining user fees for waste in the midst of the Township’s COVID-19
response helps limit the amount of waste that is being placed for roadside pickup. Right now, we’re
seeing more household garbage being generated than usual”.
Curbside collection will continue to occur on regularly scheduled days. If you are unsure of your
