The Township of Chatsworth is seeking a highly motivated, service orientated individual with exceptional communication skills to join our Team.
The successful applicant will be responsible for the public education, promotion and enforcement of regulatory by-laws within the municipality and operational requirements of a Provincial Offences Officer.
This position will collaborate with senior staff and outside agencies such as Police in providing timely and appropriate response to inquiries and complaints, including gathering information, investigation, issuing warnings, orders and Provincial Offences notices.
The successful candidate will possess a college diploma in a related field (Law Enforcement). Membership or eligible for membership with the Municipal Law Enforcement Association of Ontario (MLEO) and certification as a Property Standards Officer through the Ontario Association of Property Standards Officers (OAPSO). A minimum of three (3) years working experience with by-law enforcement and property standards compliance. Knowledge of courtroom procedures. Strong interpersonal communication skills, negotiation, problem solving, diplomacy, tact and customer service skills are required.
A valid Ontario Class G Drivers’ License, along with a clear vulnerable sector criminal record check.
This is a part- time position of 22.5 hours per week (3 days) and may include call-outs to respond to enforcement matters and therefore requires flexibility to work on evenings or weekends. Pay Grade 6 – $26.71 – $30.36 per hour.
