MEDIA RELEASE – BEACHES REOPENED
IN TOWNSHIP OF CHATSWORTH
TOWNSHIP OF CHATSWORTH – The Township of Chatsworth continues to follow the lead of Public
Health Grey Bruce to ensure that our residents remain safe during the COVID-19 Pandemic. On May
28 th , the Medical Officer of Health rescinded a previous order requiring municipalities to close all beaches
in Grey and Bruce Counties.
The Township’s Emergency Control has now declared that the public beaches within the Township of
Chatsworth may reopen.
The reopening of public beaches in the Township adds to the list of other public amenities now open
including Township-owned parks, greenspaces and sports fields. The following restrictions remain in
Continued practice of physical distancing
Groups are limited to no more than 5 people
No organized sports teams
No restroom facilities will be available
Sports fields – daytime use only
Playgrounds will remain closed at this time. “We are pleased that our residents have cooperated with
the various restrictions that have been put in place throughout the COVID-19 Pandemic. This
cooperation has enabled us to slowly open up our communities, particularly with the good weather upon
us” said Mayor Scott Mackey.
