Closed Recreation Facilities

PRESS RELEASE – COVID-19
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
March 16, 2020

As COVID-19 evolves, the Township of Chatsworth is working closely with the Grey Bruce Health Unit and our neighbouring municipalities to monitor and respond to the situation. The Township is implementing proactive measures as a precaution to limit further transmission of the coronavirus, known as COVID-19.

Effectively immediately, Monday, March 16, 2020, all Township of Chatsworth recreation facilities are closed until further notice. This consists of all arenas, curling clubs, community halls, and town run facilities. All programming, both municipally run and third party rentals within these facilities are also cancelled.

Further, the Municipal Office will be closed to the public. To ensure continuity of services, staff will be working to answer calls and emails. Tax and water payments may be made on-line, or through your bank or placed in the secure 24/7 drop box at the municipal office. Burn permits and building inspections can arranged by visiting our website at www.chatsworth.ca or contacting the township office at 519-794-3232.

The situation will be continually reassessed by Township staff and updates will be provided as needed through traditional and social media outlets including our website at www.chatsworth.ca.

Any groups or individuals who have booked a facility are being contacted and offered full refunds or booking another date, where possible. Please contact the Township at 519-794-3232, Ext. 128 if you have questions about a booking.
